Friends and family say it has been a long past couple of weeks and there are still a lot of unanswered questions surrounding the boating accident. They say now it's a form of closure to know that Rose is home.

"Now that we've got some closure, you know he's come home. It's still hitting you. It hits you in waves," said Steve Reamey.

Friends say Rose will be remembered most for his love of the outdoors, desire to always help others, and involvement in charities.

"We've all kind of come to grips with it. Everybody is just trying to figure out how we are going to remember him. What's the tribute? What's the best way we can give him a tribute? That's where our mindset is now," said Reamey.

They say they are still in shock but they plan to move forward how they think Rose would want them to.

"Once you knew the guy and got to hang around him, you loved the guy," said Reamey.

"He was a very sincere and genuine person and he was truly a gentleman and somebody who was very loyal to his friends," said Emily Hayman.

They say they have heavy hearts for their friend.

"He always put others before himself. He took every opportunity he could to help others," said Hayman.

Friends say that was something Rose was passionate about. He helped raise money for toys that will soon go to children who are cancer patients.

"In my mind he was one of a kind. He can't be replaced," said Reamey.

Friends say there are still a lot of unanswered questions about the accident but for now that's not the focus.

"It's a sense of closure but it can also be very painful, because it is a sense of closure, so we're all just sending positive thoughts and warm wishes to his family and hoping that they're comforted and loved," said Hayman.

A special tribute and gathering for those who knew and loved Rose will be held Friday May 9 evening at Burger Bar on Heatherdowns Blvd.
