NEW DETAILS: Robeson Co. deputy, woman die in jet ski accident on Cape Fear River

ELIZABETHTOWN, NC (WECT) -

A Robeson County Deputy has been identified as one of the two bodies discovered at the Cape Fear River Lock and Dam #2 near Elizabethtown Wednesday morning.

According to Brent Spivey with the North Carolina Wildlife Commission, a fisherman found a body near a jet ski and when officers responded, they discovered a second body.

According to the Robeson County Sheriff's Office, Deputy Thomas Bradley Carter, 30, of Pembroke and Charlotte Paige McLellan, 27, of Lumberton were involved in a jet ski accident.

No other details are known at this time. Officials are still investigating.
