For those who think Johnny Manziel didn't want to come to Cleveland, Browns quarterbacks coach Dowell Loggains has a message for you, telling an Arkansas radio show that Manziel text the Browns during the draft, saying, "I wish you guys would come get me."
Loggains, appearing on SportsTalk with Bo Mattingly on Thursday afternoon, says he forwarded the message to Jimmy Haslam and Mike Pettine, knowing that Manziel was tops on Haslam's list, and the Browns traded up to draft Manziel at 22, believing the Kansas City Chiefs would take him with the 23rd overall pick.
Interesting words from a guy on the inside, especially on the heels of Haslam saying he told Manziel to "start acting like a back-up." Clearly, Manziel has the support of the owner. The question isn't "if" Johnny will be the Browns starting quarterback, but "when."
