NORTH OLMSTED, OH (WOIO) -

Passion and intense anger filled a meeting in North Olmsted Thursday night.

Officials met with 500 residents who are upset about the flooding in their neighborhoods during Monday's big storm.

"If there are any lawyers out here, there should be a class action lawsuit and these people should resign. Period!" yelled one resident.

Along streets like Sweetbriar Drive, lawns are filled with water-soaked debris. Water and raw sewage fill basements and local streets.

Ralph Mackey took us into his basement and showed us pictures of some of the damage in his home.

"It smelled like raw sewage.  We've abated some of that," said Ralph Mackey.

At the meeting, residents demanded explanations.

Frustrations flowed even more when there were technical problems with the microphones.

"You're holding a civil meeting here and you can't even get the PA system working," added another resident.

Officials did their best to explain what happened.

"The rivers came up. It flowed into the lift stations and into people's basements. It overwhelmed the sanitary system and everybody flooded," explained a city official.
