CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

The Cleveland Police Chief, Fire Chief and EMS Commissioner held a joint news conference Tuesday afternoon to discuss the recent violence in the city.

The three leaders also pleaded for the community's help in preventing and solving crimes.

"People know when things are happening and Cleveland Police should be called before it escalates to gun violence," said Police Chief Calvin Williams.

Chief Williams adds violence is more than a police problem; it's a community problem. And we need to address it as a community.

"Trauma starts at the point of impact, then it rolls down to family; victim's families who are now left without a loved one. You cannot ever take that back," says EMS Commissioner Nicole Carlton.

People can report crimes anonymously by calling Crime Stoppers.
