Cleveland Police investigate male stabbed in the throat on E. 38th St.

CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -
Third District Cleveland Police Officers are investigating a felonious assault and a felonious assault stabbing that occurred on June 7 at 8:45 p.m.

The stabbing happened in the area of 2515 E. 38th.
 
Cleveland Police and EMS discovered a male who had suffered a cut to his throat.

The victim has been identified as 21-year-old Erick Beck.

Beck was immediately conveyed to MetroHealth Medical Center. 

So far officers have gathered that Beck was involved in a fight with a 39-year-old male, who was still on scene.

That male was arrested in connection with the stabbing.

The suspect suffered a broken jaw during the altercation with Beck and he was also transported to MetroHealth where he was treated for his injuries.

The suspect was later conveyed to the Justice Center where he was booked for the felonious assault stabbing. 

Beck was not arrested due to the severity of his injuries and is listed in stable condition.

Officers were able to locate a the knife believed to be evidence in the stabbing.

Third District Detectives will continue to investigate.
