The Elyria Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently investigating a serious injury crash which occurred on SR 18 at State Route 511 in Brighton Township.  The two-vehicle crash happened Saturday around 7 p.m.

37-year-old Christine Pier of Sheffield Lake and two children in a car suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene.

49-year-old Robert Howard of Canton was driving a motorcycle without a helmet and was ejected after troopers say he improperly passed another car and hit Piero's car as it was turning. Howard was flown to Metro Hospital where his condition is unknown.

Alcohol use is not suspected as a factor in the crash.

The Lorain County Sheriff's Office and Wellington Fire also assisted at the scene. The crash remains under investigation.
