UPDATE: Three suspects arrested in Akron homicide

AKRON, OH (WOIO) -

Akron Police Detectives have arrested three suspects involved in the homicide of 46-year-old Shawn Dotson, that happened late Saturday night.

The three suspects, Daryl E. Rue, 27, of East Avenue, Robert E. Jordan Jr., 26, of Stanton Avenue, and Dennis Miller, 27, of Terrell Drive, all of Akron, forced their way into Dotson's house on Lawton Street and robbed him.

Akron police say during the robbery, Dotson was shot in the chest. Officers say he was found on his neighbor's porch around midnight.

"I think he was shot over there and pulled himself up on my porch and bloodied my porch," said Mr. Blair, Dotson's neighbor.

EMS transported Dotson to Akron General Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arriving. Dotson was barely conscious when police arrived, but he managed to describe his killers to authorities before he died.

Police say robbery was the motive.

Rue was charged with obstructing official business, aggravated murder, aggravated burglary, aggravated robbery and kidnapping.

Jordan was charged with obstructing official business, aggravated murder, aggravated burglary, aggravated robbery and kidnapping.

Miller was charged with obstructing official business, tampering with evidence, complicity to commit aggravated murder, complicity to commit aggravated robbery, complicity to commit aggravated burglary and complicity to commit kidnapping. 

The homicide is still under investigation. The three suspects remain in the Summit County Jail awaiting their next court dates.
