(CNN) – The World Cup in Brazil is expected to draw a record number of TV viewers around the world, meaning it will probably become the most-watched sporting event ever, and advertisers are keen to cash in.

By putting the world into World Cup, Samsung's sci-fi ad assembles an international all-star football team to take on aliens who have challenged the Earth to a win or be destroyed in a game of footy.

A kick around the park turns into a shape-shifting, star-studded experience in Nike's advert, featuring everyone from Wayne Rooney to David Luiz.

There are stars of a different sort in Banco de Chile's patriotic advert, featuring the Chilean miners who remind you that nothing is impossible, including a World Cup victory for Chile.

One of the most eye-catching World Cup advent hasn't gotten a star in sight. McDonald's showcases various trick shots in a good old fashioned ad featuring some absurd football skills.

One of the most talked about commercials is the epic five-minute feature from Beats by Dr. Dre. It shows what players go through before kickoff, as well as the superstitions of the fans who watch them.
