CPD Chief Williams' car sideswiped

CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

Wednesday evening around 7:00 p.m. Chief Calvin Williams was westbound on Chester in his personal car when he was sideswiped.

The accident happened at E. 70th Street.

Police say after the chief's car was hit, the man kept going.

The man was eventually found at 1905 E. 55th Street changing his tire. He was not arrested but issued a ticket for failing to stop.

No one was injured in the accident but the man was treated by EMS for a heart condition.

The amount of damage to Chief Williams' car is not known.
