CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

Cleveland Police Officers arrest more than 100 people during a recent drug enforcement detail on the city's east side.

Officers in Vice, Community Services, Patrol, Canine and Traffic worked together during the sweep. They focused mainly on the East 185th Street area.

This resulted in 116 felony arrests, 24 guns and 19.73 ounces of heroin seized. 27 grams of crack cocaine and almost 14 pounds of marijuana were also taken off the streets.

Police say arrests and confiscations are a direct result of citizens getting involved and police responding.

Many of those arrested include suburbanites who enter the city to purchase and use heroin and crack cocaine.

"This is just one of many efforts that we continue to make our neighborhoods safer," says Cleveland Police Commander Dennis Hill.
