Fatal motorcycle accident in Cleveland

CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -
The Cleveland Police are currently investigating a fatal motor vehicle accident which occurred on Monday, June 16, 2014 at about 6:00 am at St. Clair Avenue and East 125th Street.

A 35-year-old man was riding a Yamaha motorcycle eastbound on St. Clair Avenue and was speeding.

He lost control of the motorcycle sliding on it's right side along the road and collided with the rear of a Jeep SUV stopped at a red light. 

The SUV was driven by a 46-year-old woman.

Both drivers were transported to University Hospital by EMS for treatment.  

The man operating the motorcycle was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital. The female was treated and released.

No citations were issued in this incident. This matter will be further investigated.
