NORTH RIDGEVILLE, OH (WOIO) -

North Ridgeville Firefighters were assisted by three other departments while battling a house fire at 35862 Laurel Circle on the night of Tuesday, June 18 at 8 p.m.

Authorities say they were dispatched to the home after a neighbor called the department stating he saw smoke in the upstairs bedroom window and smoke coming form eaves.

Firefighters arrived to find the entire home heavily charged with smoke.

After gaining entry through the front door, the fire crew worked their way through the home and up to the bedroom where a dresser, bedding, mattress and other items were burning.

One dog was rescued from the burning room along with another dog and cat from the first floor.  All animals were given first aid.

The homeowner was not at home at the time of the fire but arrived soon after crews began extinguishing the blaze.

Within 30 minutes the fire was put out by the North Ridgeville Fire Department with the help of Westlake, Avon and Olmsted Township.  North Olmsted Fire also responded with three medic units.

Damage is estimated at $50,000.
