ICFNE created the Annual Gratitude Awards Gala in 2011 to honor the personal and business coaches who have demonstrated exemplary coaching skills and served as ambassadors for positive change and enlightenment in the world.

Coach of the Year is an annual award bestowed upon coaches who have contributed to the coaching community and the coaching industry during the last year. Nominees are selected by the ICFNE membership through a formal nomination and voting process.

During the past year, Karen has provided exemplary support to the ICFNE coaching community while fulfilling her mission to empower individuals, teams, and organizations to achieve their full potential. Some of her accomplishments that led to her nomination include:

  • Launched her business Chrysalis Coaching & Consulting to empower individuals, teams, and organizations to achieve their full potential
  • Provided coaching at the Coach's Corner at the Massachusetts Women's Conference, the largest women's conference with 10,000+ attendees
  • Provided pro bono coaching to undergraduate students through Babson's CLTP Program
  • Provided pro bono coaching to graduate students through Babson's Managing Talent Program
  • Served as an ICFNE Program Committee Member

"It is always an honor to be recognized for the work you do," said Carmody, "and this one even more special because it comes from my peers in the coaching community."

Three organizations received the ICFNE Prism Award: eClinicalWorks, EMC, and IBM. Recipients of the Prism Award are recognized business organizations that demonstrate how professional coaching-used as a leadership strategy-pays dividends on many fronts. This award has become the epitome of what professional coaching can accomplish at the corporate/organizational level.

The ICF is a nonprofit and the leading global organization dedicated to advancing the coaching profession through both personal and business coaching.  ICFNE is the fourth largest ICF chapter in the world.

Profits from the ICFNE ceremony were donated to CHAMP House whose mission is to provide a safe, therapeutic, and nurturing family-type environment for homeless youths and adults.
