LORAIN COUNTY, OH (WOIO) -

19 Action News Reporter George Smith went to several different parts of Lorain County tonight, covering damages from the storms that rolled through the area throughout the evening.

In North Ridgeville, there was a potentially dangerous situation on Case Road. Power lines were caught in trees that are falling down. The road was shut down shortly after we came to the scene.

And over in Avon, crews are working in the aftermath of the storm. The scene along Detroit Road near Moon Road had dozens of downed trees, large branches, and power lines. Drivers had to maneuver around the hazardous sports.

In Sheffield Village, most of the city is in the dark. Speedway and McDonalds off Detroit Road are both closed with no power. Traffic signals are out and police are warning drivers to treat all intersections as a four way stop.

The fire department in Sheffield Township spent some time rescuing a man from his home, after he was trapped inside by a fallen tree. Crews worked to remove the branches and clear a path for the Dunton Road man to have an escape.

There is no doubt that crews will have their work cut out for them, cleaning up the debris and fixing the downed power lines.
