GREEN, OH (WOIO) -

The following roads are currently closed in Green due to heavy rains Wednesday:

  • South Main Street between Caston and Nimilisa. This area is still underwater and will most likely be closed for the entire day.
  • Graybill Road between Massillon and Mayfair Road is CLOSED. Flood waters have receded on Graybill, which revealed damage to the edges of the roadway where it flooded. The city engineer has deemed it unsafe for two-way traffic at this time.   The City is working to set up a temporary signal to create a single lane of traffic on Graybill by early next week.  The city is currently meeting with contactors to bid the emergency repair project. Specific details and the timing of the repair are unknown at this time.
  • Residential street, Berna, will be closed for repairs to two pipes. Berna is expected to be closed for  up to two weeks.
Other roads with storm damage:
  • There is damage to the shoulders on Greensburg Road, in the 1600 Block near Nimisila.    The road is open at this time, but will be reduced to one lane when repairs are made next week.
  • Update on roads closed yesterday (June 18, 2014):
SR 619 between Mayfair and Myersville remains open today.

Mayfair Road between Greensburg and Aultman is open.
