MONROE, NC (WBTV) -

On Saturday morning, crews found the body of 18-year-old Malique Streater in Lake Twitty.

Officials with the city of Monroe said Streater's body was found by Monroe Fire Personnel just after 9:00 a.m.

According to family, the Monroe teenager had a seizure and fell from a boat on Thursday.

Dozens of investigators canvassed the water, searching the location where Streater was last seen.

Investigators say the depth is made the search difficult.

Friday afternoon, crews decided to expand the search area, as Streater's family waited on shore.

According to the boy's family, Streater, a senior at Forest Hills High School, was fishing with his grandfather on Lake Twitty when he fell from the boat and did not resurface.

"That's my best friend. I don't know what to do cause, I really miss my brother right now and I want to see him but I can't," said Kayla Hough.

Hough said Streater had a seizure before falling into the water. Police confirmed the teen had a history of seizures.

According to police in Monroe, officers were called to the scene, which is along the 2100 block of Old Camden Road, around 5 p.m. on Thursday.

The Charlotte Fire Dive Team was called in to help with the search. Officials said the lake, which is roughly 475 acres, is around 40 feet at its deepest points.
