MUNSON TWP, OH (WOIO) -

The prestigious Notre Dame Cathedral Latin school in Geauga County was damaged by Wednesday night's high winds, but it could have been so much worse.

Munson Fire Department Chief Mark Lynn remembers how the call came in:

"We have a priority: possible structure damage Notre Dame."

There was no structure collapse, but the high winds tore a hole in the roof of the gymnasium. It happened around 7:30 p.m., but luckily, people were inside the larger building. Sister Jacquelyn Gusdane says nobody was hurt.

"There were a few students and adults in the cafeteria, but nobody was in this area, and that's important to know," said Gusdane.

It is too early for damage estimates, which could pass $200,000. Complete repairs could take more than a week.

The National Weather Service could determine in a matter of days if the damage was caused by a tornado or if it was just high winds.
