Narcotic agents arrest man during drug delivery in library parking lot

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, NC (WECT) -

Cumberland County Sheriff's Office Bureau of Narcotics Agents arrested man as he was making a drug delivery in the parking lot of a library.

According to the CCSO, agents approached 63-year-old William Herbert Poche, Jr. in a parking lot of the Bordeaux Branch Library in Fayetteville as he made an illegal drug transaction from the trunk of his Buick sedan.

While searching Poche's vehicle, officers found 297.4 grams of marijuana in a cooler and 30 Oxycodone tablets. The marijuana was packaged in five separate bags. Officers also found a grinder and a digital scale next to the marijuana.

Officers charged Poche with possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver marijuana, trafficking opium by possession, trafficking opium by transportation and maintaining a vehicle for the sell and delivery of illegal drugs.

Poche is being held in the Cumberland County Detention Center under a $30,000 secured bond. He is expected to make his first court appearance Friday.
