Justin Masterson will miss his scheduled start on Sunday in Seattle with soreness in his right knee. The right-hander has been dealing with the injury since his second start of the season.
"It started after my second start of the season," Masterson told the Plain Dealer. The Indians ace has struggled this season, he has an ERA of 5.03, the highest on the staff. He has also seen his velocity drop. Is the knee to blame? "I don't know," said Masterson. "It's just been a little nagging. Maybe it's taken (away) a little of the power and consistency? I'll get pushed back a couple of days and then come back firing," said Masterson. "Technically, I'll miss that start Sunday, but I'll probably pitch a couple of days after that."
The Indians will have to make a move to get a starter for that day, T.J. House is a possibility. He is currently in Triple-A Columbus.
