The landscape of the NBA will begin to take a new look at midnight, that's when teams are allowed to talk with free agent players. Names like LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade will get to hear sales pitches from teams, if they want to hear them.
Many wonder how much Miami's "Big-3" really want to leave South Florida. Bosh and Wade especially may have opted out only to see if it allows the Heat to re-work their deals as well as bring in other big name players, like Anthony.
James is expected to stay in Miami, but will also listen to pitches from other teams. The Cavaliers are believed to be a place he will consider, along with Miami, Houston and maybe Los Angeles.
The Cavs do have the cap room to pursue max-contract players. They are also trying to extend their own player, Kyrie Irving. Irving is not a free agent yet, but the Cavs would like to sign him long term so he does not become one any time soon.
