JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

On Thursday police say that a family was robbed at gunpoint in a home in Jackson.

At around 11:23 pm, police responded to reports of a home invasion at 535 Forest Avenue.

One of the victims, a 50-year-old man, said that they arrived at home after closing the family restaurant, TaQueria La Reata Restaurant, located on Highway 80. His son was outside on the porch when four black males, all armed with long hand guns, approached him and forced him into the home.

The man told officers that he grabbed his 9mm pistol and went into the front room where he heard a disturbance.

The suspects overpowered him and took his pistol.

We are told that the suspects took an undisclosed amount of cash, a cell phone and the store keys from the victim. The suspects also demanded money from the man's wife after forcing her to raise her shirt where she had cash in her bra.

They also robbed an 18-year-old woman in the home.

The suspects fled the scene in the family's blue Toyota mini van, which was recovered a short time later abandoned on Trinity Street.

The family describes the suspects as all being between the ages of 17 to 20.
