JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

A longtime Jackson resident who lives near the Jackson Medical Mall is thankful to be alive after a bullet shot through her home Thursday night.

70-year-old Dorothy Pace showed us where a single bullet went through her bedroom window and straight through two walls.

Pace lives on John Street where several shell casing where spotted. She says she's tired of the shootings and says she's grateful she wasn't hit when the barrage of bullets shot through the area.

"It went straight to the kitchen. Had I been drying my clothes it would have went through my back."

Police did come out to investigate the shooting Friday morning.

However, Pace says she wants to see a larger police presence in her neighborhood to help keep the criminals out.
