SAN DIEGO, CA (CNN) - The Border Patrol says two Mexican nationals died Tuesday after a "smuggling incident."
Authorities say the two men were found in the trunk of a car trying to enter the U.S. at the San Ysidro Border Crossing in San Diego.
They were discovered by border agents through the use of an imaging system.
The men, both in their 20s, were found unconscious and not breathing in the truck of the car.
CPR performed at the scene was unsuccessful, and they were declared dead after being rushed to local hospitals.
Authorities took the 41-year-old driver into custody.
He may face criminal charges.
