PULASKI COUNTY, AR (KARK/CNN) - Former boxing champion Jermain Taylor was released on $25,000 bail Wednesday after an arrest related to a shooting at his home.
Taylor has pleaded not guilty to charges, according to news reports.
Police responded to his residence Tuesday for reports of a disturbance. They said Taylor's cousin had been shot multiple times.
A spokesman with the sheriff's department said Taylor was arrested on suspicion of domestic battery and aggravated assault, according to the Associated Press.
Officials did not release details on what may have sparked the shooting. Taylor was ordered to stay away from his cousin and another man.
Taylor will be allowed to fight in October for his scheduled bout in Connecticut. The 2000 U.S. Olympic bronze medalist held the undisputed middleweight title from 2005 to 2007, winning it from Bernard Hopkins and defeating him again in a rematch.
