Company Used Intellums Exceed LMS to Support the Training of Approximately 6,000 Track Service Personnel at 29 U.S. Tracks

Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) September 04, 2014

Intellum, a visionary provider of learning-related technology for companies of all sizes, announced today that one of its customers, the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR), came in fourth place in the government, non-profit, and association category of the 2014 Learning! 100 Awards, a program recognizing 100 private and public organizations for outstanding learning cultures, innovations, or collaborations that drive performance. NASCAR was recognized for the work of its training and development department, responsible for the development of online training for track service personnel including EMS, fire, and operations professionals at the 29 U.S. tracks hosting NASCAR races.

Over a two-year period, NASCAR made a concerted effort to use self-paced, online learning for much of the training fundamentals. Through these efforts, NASCAR was able to focus much more on hands-on learning and emergency scenario-based training during the two-day training sessions at each track.

NASCAR manages and tracks the training of the approximately 6,000 track personnel, most of whom are employed by hosting tracks, through Intellums Exceed LMS. NASCAR tracks completed hands-on training by scanning the bar codes on employee IDs, a process that saves countless hours of administrative time. Reports detailing employees training progress are available anytime to track management and training coordinators.

We have very much enjoyed working with NASCAR to find innovative ways to address its unique training challenges, said Chip Ramsey, co-founder and CEO of Intellum. NASCAR is committed to providing the best training experience possible for track personnel. By taking advantage of technology efficiencies, NASCAR can continually improve the training experience as well as overall track safety. We extend our hearty congratulations to the NASCAR team on this outstanding accomplishment.

2014 Learning! 100 Award winners were announced on August 25 at the Enterprise Learning! Conference and Expo in Anaheim, CA. Elearning! Media Group, publishers of Elearning! and Government Elearning! magazines and producers of the Enterprise Learning! Conference, conducts the annual award program.

By having track services personnel complete online courses before they arrive for on-site track training, we have been able to dramatically increase the amount of time we can dedicate to hands-on training, said Karen Masencup, director of training and development for NASCAR. Additionally, with our diverse workforce coming in from all around the country, the centralized learning management is ideal when training documentation is needed for a team member.

The NASCAR training initiative is a stellar example of learning best practices, said Catherine Upton, group publisher, Elearning! Media Group. The companys approach to delivering and managing critical safety training to a highly distributed, diverse workforce offers valuable lessons to those executives responsible for training large external audiences.

For more information on NASCARs training, see the organizations profile in the August/September issue of Elearning! magazine. Intellum will be hosting a live, complimentary webinar presentation conducted by NASCAR team members on September 17, at 1 p.m. Eastern.
