The following is from the University of Alabama Athletics Department:

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama football team practiced for two hours in full pads on Wednesday with the 2014 home opener just three days away.

The Crimson Tide welcomes Florida Atlantic to Bryant-Denny Stadium for the second time in three years. The Owls made the trip to Tuscaloosa in 2012 and dropped a 40-7 decision to Alabama. FAU went 6-6 in 2013 and are under the direction of new head coach Charlie Partridge.

Alabama had six players make their first career starts this past Saturday against West Virginia, while 10 freshmen saw their first action in an Alabama uniform. Those players will get their first experience inside Bryant-Denny Stadium Saturday.

Saturday's kickoff against Florida Atlantic is set for 11:01 a.m. on the SEC Network. It will be the Crimson Tide's first appearance on the newly launched network. Dave Neal and Andre Ware will have the call with Laura Rutledge on the sidelines.
