Cuyahoga County Recorder Pleads Guilty To Obscenity Charge, Resigns Post

Cuyahoga County, OH - A political scandal involving Cuyahoga County Recorder Pat O'Malley has forced the Democrat to resign his post.

The acting U.S. Attorney tells 19 Action News O'Malley has been federally charged with one count of obscenity.

At an afternoon hearing, O'Malley pleaded guilty to the single charge filed against him and was bonded out on $100K.

He also had to surrender his passport.

The Democrat accused of knowingly transmitting or transporting numerous images of adults - no children involved - according to his lawyer.

19 Action News has learned O'Malley used AOL to trade dirty pictures - pornography.

He will be sentenced on August 22nd.
