Hundreds Line Up to Say Goodbye to Fallen Twinsburg Officer

TWINSBURG, Ohio (AP) - Funeral home calling hours were Thursday for the suburban Cleveland police officer killed in the line of duty last weekend.

The procession and funeral for 33-year-old Twinsburg Officer Joshua Miktarian is scheduled for tomorrow.

Authorities say Miktarian was shot in the head several times during a traffic stop early Sunday. Suspect Ashford Thompson is charged with aggravated murder and is being held on 5 million dollars bond.

Miktarian's wife, Holly, has released a statement thanking people in the community for their "generous support."

The City of Munroe Falls will be closing the north bound lane of Rt. 91 (Darrow Rd) for the Funeral Procession for Officer Miktarian on Friday, July 18, at 8:30am

  • Citizens may gather to honor Officer Miktarian along Rt. 91
  • Suggested parking: Brust Park on Rt. 91 by the Cuyahoga River or the old Bank One lot at the corner of Rt. 91 and Munroe Falls Avenue.
  • Flags may be placed along the street. The City will pick up any flags left on Monday morning
