Cleveland, OH - A Sheffield Lake man indicted on lewd charges on Tuesday.
Robert H. Owens indicted on rape, gross sexual imposition and kidnapping charges for sexual contact with four underage girls at the New Hope Baptist Church in Linndale.
The alleged victims range in age from 5-9-years-old.
Linndale Police Sgt. Tim Franczak says Owens is the stereotypical child predator - befriending the innocent and offering candy to gain the girls trust.
Franczak also tells 19 Action News the 68-year-old allegedly committed the sex acts on the girls in church and sometimes on Sunday morning.
Owens is from Lorain County but traveled to the small church every Sunday for two-years.
